On behalf of the WUTC 2010 Steering Committee, comprising the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Academy, MSI Global Pte Ltd and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES), it is my pleasure to invite you to the World Urban Transit Conference 2010.
Urban transport impacts the economic vibrancy, environmental sustainability and quality of life of cities. Half of the world's population or some 3 billion people live in cities. Many cities face chronic traffic congestions and serious side effects such as pollution, inadequate public transport and other mobility problems. Thus, urban transport deserves to be given the utmost priority to minimize negative side effects.
The implementation of rail transit infrastructure as part of urban transport is a critical element in achieving a balanced transportation system. It affects cities' livability and global competitiveness. Therefore, the main theme of World Urban Transit Conference 2010 (WUTC 2010) is developing a sustainable and innovative urban rail transportation system in urban transport so as to improve the quality and effectiveness of transport system of cities.
The conference will cover all aspects of rail transit infrastructure, with 6 keynote lectures, delivered by prominent and renowned experts.
In conjunction, an International trade exhibition will be held. This international exhibition presents unparalleled marketing and networking opportunities for the Urban Rail Transit Industry and offers participants the ideal platform to explore and expand into emerging markets.
We sincerely invite you to take part in WUTC 2010 and look forward to your participation.
