Technical site visit is free to delegates, limited to maximum of 40 persons per site. The four site visits will be held simultaneously and delegates can only choose one site. Delegates will be registered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
TV 1: Kim Chuan Depot & HarbourFront Station
Kim Chuan Depot
As one of the largest underground rail transit facility of its kind in the world, the visit will include the operation command centre of driverless train system, automatic storage & retrieval system and the train maintenance facilities.
HarbourFront Interchange Station
This new station is constructed beside an existing live station and required to be partially underpinned. The visit will focus on the extension and integration with the existing station and the adjoining private commercial development.
TV 2: Promenade & Marina Bay Stations
Promenade Interchange Station
This station is the portion where the rail forks into two branches. The visit will encompass the construction of the cut and cover station and bored tunnel construction by the Earth Pressure Balanced Tunnel Boring Machine.
Marina Bay Station
Extension of this existing station is at its final stage. The new station will house a workshop area for train maintenance. The visit will comprise the fitting up of a completed station.
TV 3: Cross Street & Chinatown Stations
Cross Street & Chinatown Stations
Constructed underneath one of the busiest roads in Singapore, the visit will showcase the construction of 2 complex underground stations, one of which is integrated with an existing operational station within a very densely built-up environment in challenging ground conditions and another in close proximity to a mix of very sensitive structures within the heart of Singapore’s business district.
TV 4: Botanic Gardens Station
One of the key challenges during construction is to minimise any adverse environmental impact on the adjacent parkland and surrounding buildings. The visit will focus on the ongoing station construction and its integration with another future station.
